NEW FEATURE - HIGHLIGHT YOUR EVENT

To list your wedding fair or event on the site is FREE, though if you want to get the edge over your competitiors then opt for a highlighted listing. You get more space, more text, and an eye-catching yellow background. Plus you get a highlighted entry on your town page too. Each highlighted entry is charged per event and the highlight will be removed once the fair has taken place. You get 3 bullet points per entry, each running to a maximum of 50 character spaces.

Ad campaigns

We work our advertising differently to run-of-the-mill wedding directory style websites, in that we only run one advert per each type of wedding supply business. So that's 1 x wedding photographer, 1 x stationery supplier, 1 x cake decorator... well you get the picture. Once that ad space is taken up, we will not advertise any competitor businesses, meaning you get an exclusive advert for your company. And what's more, you don't just get one ad, you get multiple adverts spread throughout the website. So don't hang around, once the ad space is gone, it's gone.

The adverts

You will notice some ads in the left and right columns of the website and also a banner shape advert at the bottom of each page. You have the choice of either advert style. Once we get 6 or more advertisers displaying in the left/right columns, the adverts will be rotated to ensure each advertiser equal exposure. Same thing once we get more than 3 banner ads. The ads are randomly placed too, so that every one gets a chance for their advert to be displayed in the prime positions on the website. When clicked, these adverts will take the potential customer directly to your website. Once an advert is sold we will remove the Google ads so you don't get any competitor adverts displaying on the website.

Wedding suppliers

Wedding suppliers get an ad on the left & right, or a banner advert at the bottom of the page. Your advert also appears on the Wedding Suppliers page.

Wedding & reception venues

If you are a wedding venue (such as an hotel) you get 3 adverts - one on the Wedding Venues page, one on your actual wedding fair page and one on your relevant town page. Plus you can also add a write-up about your wedding function facilities on your fair page.

Wedding fairs

The wedding fair listings on the site are free. However there is space for a single advert to promote your wedding fair, on the left & right or at the bottom of the page.

Shops and businesses

We have space on the website to advertise shops and general businesses. Depending on your type of business, you can advertise on the Household page, the Wedding Presents page or you can run a money-off voucher campaign on the Voucher page.

*Website search engine rankings

Our website is number one on Yahoo and Bing for a search on ‘Essex wedding fairs’ and is on the first page of Google search engine. We also rank either position 1, or very highly for hundreds of other wedding and wedding fair related searches. Searches conducted 20/08/2011.

Visitor statistics

We aim to achieve between 800 and 1500 unique visitors to this website per month. September is the month that visitor volumes reach a maximum, as this is what we call the wedding fair 'high season', when most of the fairs are staged and when there is the most wedding related activity on the Internet.

The cost

Costs vary depending on whether you are a wedding supplier or wedding venue, and also on other factors such as the number of adverts you want to run (we have other county websites too). Questions & Answers

Q How come your advertising rates are so competitive?
A We have built the website ourselves and manage all the content and search engine optimisation in-house. This means we don't have to pay other web design companies to do the work. These savings are passed on to you - the advertiser.

Q I don't have a website. Can I still advertise?
A Yes you can. We can build you a web page on our website to promote your business.

Q Can you design my advert for me?
A Yes we can design your advert. At the moment we offer this as a free service! However if you want to supply your own advert artwork then this is fine. Take a look at the 'Technical' section below for further details.

Q Can I share ad space with another wedding supplier like mine?
A Yes this can be arranged. As long as you both do the same thing (for example wedding photography) and you both agree to share the ad space, we can design a generic wedding photography advert and link it to a page displaying both your ads. Clicking each ad will take the potential customer to the relevant website. You get a reduction in your ad rates too, depending on how many advertisers you want to share with. This may be a good idea if your companies are far apart in the county or have differing style of products or service.

Q Can I run an advert for a limited period?
A Yes you can. You may be a wedding venue that wants to run a promotion for a wedding reception in an off-peak month for instance.

Q Can I be the sole advertiser on the website?
A Yes, this may be possible, though we would have to honour our current advertisers' campaigns up to expiry date.

Advertising on the mailing list

We have just introduced a mailing list facility. The aim of this is to send an article out to the members, written by our advertisers. At the end of the article there would be an advert for your company and products. The cost of this will depend on the size of the mailing list. The article will be stored on the website, again with a credit and further link to your company.

Voucher campaigns

We also have a voucher page where you can list a code for discounts on your website purchases. You get a link through to your website. This section is open to any companies whether wedding related or not.

Technical stuff

If you want to supply your own advert artwork then here's what we need...
Artwork can be supplied in .gif, .jpg or .png formats at a resolution of 72dpi. We don't accept animated formats.
Column advert - These adverts appear in the left and right columns of the website. The size of a column ad is 180 pixels wide by 250 pixels deep.
Banner advert - These appear at the bottom of the website. The size of a banner advert is 500 pixels wide by 90 pixels deep.
